Corrosion damage

Overview
- In humid climates, corrosion can occur to battery terminals, battery management system components and power conversion systems (i.e. the inverters)
- OEM warranties specify the temperature range and humidity range within which the BESS can safely operate
- The HVAC systems must maintain humidity at acceptable levels to avoid corrosion of BESS components
- Auxiliary power is required to enable critical safety systems, such as the HVAC and the Fire Detection and Suppressant System (FDSS) to function in the event of a grid outage
